Big Society and Sikhs Consultation
18th December 2010 @2pm - Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Hounslow, Middlesex
2 months consultations on Big Society and the Sikh reponse. The Coalition Government has embarked on a policy of greater autonomy at the grassroots. It calls this Big Society. This has implications and opportunities for communities including the Sikh community.
The first consultations is on Saturday 18th November at 2pm at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Alice Way, Hounslow, Middlesex.
Consultations will take place around the country as previously.

Meeting Group on GMC (General Medical Council) End of Life Guideance - 28th November 2010
The General Medical Council, the national council for medical doctors, has produced guidelines for medical staff and hospitals pn treating patients who suffer from terminal illness. The guideline includes issues around faith as well. Prof David Kurtz, an eminent retired pathologist and member of the Jewish Board of Deputies brought together doctors from various faith communities to discuss the guidelines and make any suggesstions.
The discussions are called GMC End of Life the Way Ahead. Thr group will bring out a paper which it will hope to publish. BSCF was represented by it's general secretary Dr Jasdev Rai who is a medical doctor himself. The first meeting took place on 28th November 2010.
